Your home in The Lakes
We're so glad you're here. Whether you're off up the fells, out on the lake, or just here to switch off, this page has everything you need — how things work, what's nearby, and who to call if anything's not right. Bookmark it or scan the QR code on the fridge any time.
Router is in the cupboard under the stairs if you ever need to restart it — switch off for 30 seconds, then back on.
🚗 Park on the driveway (space for 2 cars). Please do not block the neighbours’ access.
Thermostat is on the hallway wall. Turn the dial to set the temperature; hot water is on a timer but you can boost it with the orange button on the boiler in the kitchen.
Use the black remote to turn on. Netflix, iPlayer and Disney+ are all signed in — just pick from the home screen. If the screen is blank, press "Source" and choose HDMI 1.
Dishwasher tablets are under the sink. The coffee machine takes ground coffee (beans in the cupboard). Bin and recycling info is in the Bins section below.
Logs and kindling are in the basket by the hearth. Please use the guard when lit and never leave it unattended. Do not burn anything other than the wood provided.
Please put the correct bin out the night before by the front wall, and bring it back in when you can. Thank you!
Call or text any time — genuinely, if anything’s wrong I’d rather know.
For non-emergencies call 111 (medical) or 101 (police). The nearest minor-injuries unit is Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal, about 20 minutes’ drive.
Spotted something not quite right, run low on something, or just want to say hello? Drop us a line below — it comes straight to us and we read every message.
